How Can you support kitchener's?

There are many easy ways to support the work we do.

    online shopping

Shop online using easyfundraising.org.uk, thousands of online retailers who will make a donation to us every time you shop. It’s easy to set up and choose The Lord Kitchener Memorial Holiday Centre as your chosen charity.

    Fundraising

Fundraise on our behalf. There are lots of ways you can fundraise for Kitchener’s. Perhaps a sponsored walk? Sponsored silence? We have even had head shaves to raise money for us. If you’re stuck for ideas, click here for some suggestions.

    Donations

Make a donation. Making a donation is easy. Head over to our Local Giving page where you can donate any amount you can afford. Every pound counts! We have over 2,500 people who ‘like’ our Facebook page… if every person donated just £1 this would go a long way to supporting our veterans, serving military personnel and our blue light services.

Our Current Project:

We are currently embarking on a vital fundraising campaign to undertake essential maintenance work on our windows. Your support is crucial in ensuring the comfort and safety of our guests. By contributing to this initiative, you're not only preserving the charm and integrity of our facilities but also helping us continue our mission of providing outstanding holidays and short breaks to those who have served our country and communities. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Together, we can ensure a brighter and more comfortable future for all who visit Kitchener’s. To donate and support this important cause, please visit our fundraising page. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Fundraising Heroes

We're here thanks to people and ideas like these, helping us with fundraising to protect the future of Kitcheners.

Our Vision:

To fulfil the “object of the charity” as defined in the Governing Document by providing our guests with a good value and enjoyable stay in a safe, comfortable and homely “KITCHENERS”.

Our Mission:

  1. 1.

The Centre Manager, with the full support of the volunteer Board of Trustees and Management Committee, will provide within current regulations a “Fit for Purpose” facility in pursuance of the Vision.

  2. 2.

We will aim to provide a high standard and friendly service at all times in support of our guests.

  3. 3.

We will aim to maintain “Kitcheners”, a Grade II Listed building, to the highest possible and affordable standard by diligently pursuing all available funding streams through grants, donations, awards, payments and fundraising events.

Thank You

At present, the price payable by our veterans and serving members of the armed forces can be kept lower than cost thanks to the donations and sponsorship received from several major service charities. We are delighted to acknowledge the support to our revenue account of:

Unfortunately, at present we receive no support for guests represented by the following forces, and until we do their fees are charged at cost.

  • Naval
  • Blue Light
  • Why do we need money?

All money received through funding, fundraising, donations, and events plays a huge part in maintaining the building and allowing us to continue our mission to provide our veterans, serving military personnel and blue light services, and their widows/widowers and immediate families, with much needed respite by way of holidays and short breaks at a significantly discounted price. When funds allow, we are also able to make significant improvements throughout the building.

Throughout 2022 and 2023 we have re-decorated and re-carpeted a significant number of our guest rooms bringing them up to a more modern standard which guests have come to expect when staying away from home. We have also refurbished several bathrooms to accommodate walk in showers with grab rails to allow our older guests and those with mobility issues, easier access to showering than the shower over bath options.

We have also purchased brand new ‘zip together’ beds for every room. This now allows all our rooms to have the option of being a twin room or zipped together to make a super king size beds for those who request it. Alongside this, we have purchased all new duvets and pillows as well as new bedding, to ensure the utmost comfort for our guests.

What would we like to aim for as our next project?

We are now looking to fundraise enough money by way of events and donations, for repairs to windows to the front of the building. We require our windows to be watertight and insulated to allow us to continue our work through the winter months, allowing our guests a comfortable stay during colder periods and to help us reduce our heating bills as utility prices continue to soar! We can only raise the much-needed funds through donations and support at our events.

    Thank You

We would also like to thank the following people and companies for recently fundraising and donating in the name of Kitchener's.
